Band Banquet Awards Presented – May 2007

Recently the Azle HS Band held their annual banquet at the Green Oaks Hotel in Fort Worth. There were 375 students and parents in attendance. The evening included a DJ dance, senior recognition, video presentations and student awards. The evening was coordinated by band boosters Missy Webber, Ed and Nancy McClure, Clark and Connie Gilbert, June and Marcus Haptonstall, Patty Schuster, Chris Wander, Diane Morrison, John McColl, Tony and Kathy Ritter, Gary Spraggens, Jerry Wade, band president Crystal McClure, the AHS Band Officers, and many others.

 Section Awards were presented to outstanding musicians on each instrument in each band.  Symphonic Band section award winners were Karen Fulks, Jordan Hilton, Megan Sanford and Julie St. Valentine – flute, JoLean Terbrak, Jordyn Buss and Emily Suson – clarinet, Tanya Valdez – bass clarinet, Tim Slininger, Taryn Wright and Kayla Kaempf – alto sax, Andrew Pickett and Cassie Robertson – trumpet, Kendall Wilson – French horn, Blaine Gilbert, Ben Schmitz and Ethan Walton – trombone, Ryan Silva and Justin Vincik – euphonium, Barret Morrison and Eric Parrish – tuba, Brad Black - percussion.

 Wind Symphony section awards winners were Julie McDonald and Amber Parrish – flute, Erika Porter – oboe, David Crabtree, Natalie Crawford and Rachel Haptonstall – clarinet, Kelsey Sherman – bass clarinet, Courtney Mears – alto sax, Tyler Guyer and Elsie Fukuchi – trumpet, Blair Lisle – French horn, Lauren White and Craig McCauley – trombone, William Shotwell – euphonium, Casey Carter – tuba, and Megan Anguiano - percussion.
